Sunil Hi Tech bags Rs.487 cr contract for Mahagenco’s 250 MW project

Chennai, January 06, 2010: Sunil Hi Tech Engineers Ltd., (BSE: 532711) one of the leading technology and EPC companies in the power and infrastructure sector has been awarded the Balance of Plant (BOP) contract for Mahagenco’s Parli TPS Project Unit No. 8, 1 * 250 MW. The total value of the contract is Rs. 487.82 crs.

The receipt of this order marks yet another milestone for Sunil Hi Tech as the company positions itself to participate in larger power infrastructure opportunities. Having successfully completed the Gangakhed Sugar and Energy power project in Maharashtra, their existing qualifications as an EPC contractor for up to 100 MWs for thermal as well as co-generation power projects and now the qualification for 250MW plus opportunities create a diverse and valuable portfolio of capabilities.

With the Government of India’s stated objective of achieving large scale capacity addition in power in the 11th plan (78,700 MWs) and 12th plan (revised upwards to 100,000 MW) and numerous large private sector capacity additions in the pipeline, the demand for a diverse and capable EPC and BOP contractors will significantly increase in the coming years placing Sunil Hi Tech in a commanding position.
