its net profit at Rs 51.05 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011 as against the same period last fiscal.

The company had a net profit of Rs 64.20 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2010, Whirlpool of India said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

During the reporting quarter, the firm's net sales declined by 7.76 per cent at Rs 790.50 crore from Rs 857.08 crore posted in the year-ago period.

For the year-end March 2011, the company had a net profit of Rs 166.04 crore and a net sales of Rs 2,611.93 crore.

Shares of Whirlpool of India were trading at Rs 213 on the BSE, up 0.42 per cent from the previous close.
