VE Commercial Vehicles' sales jump over two-fold

Auto maker VE Commercial Vehicles today reported an over two-fold jump in sales of Eicher trucks and buses in February at 3,030 units.

This is the best ever February sales by the company, it said in statement.

The joint venture between the Volvo Group and the Eicher Group had sold 1,367 units in the same month last year.

Domestic sales increased to 3,007 units from 1,271 units in the same period a year ago, a jump of over two-fold, the company said.

Exports for the month, however, fell by 76.04 per cent to 23 units compared to 96 units in February last year.

Sales of light commercial vehicles in the Indian market during the month also went up over two-fold to 2,517 units against 995 units in February 2009.

Heavy commercial vehicle sales also recorded a jump of over two-fold at 267 units against 108 units in February last year, it added.
