TVS Motor sales up 15 pc in April

Chennai-based TVS Motor Company today reported a 15.41 per cent increase in its total sales at 1,90,683 units in April 2014.

The company had sold 1,65,214 units in the same month last year, TVS Motor Company said in a statement.

Total two-wheeler sales increased by 14 per cent to 1,83,179 units in April 2014 as against 1,60,502 units in the same month a year ago.

Domestic two-wheeler sales stood at 1,58,907 units last month, up 11 per cent, from 1,42,794 units in the year-ago period, it added.

Scooters sales during the month grew by 55 per cent to 46,069 units in April 2014 as against 29,692 units in the corresponding month last year.

Motorcycles sales grew by 9 per cent to 73,636 units in last month as compared to 67,849 units in the corresponding month a year earlier.

During the month, sales of three-wheelers grew by 59 per cent at 7,504 units as against 4,712 units in April 2013.
