Tata International to foray into footwear retail space

Following the inauguration of the Tata Group company's first Tashi specialty footwear retail store in the metropolis tomorrow, the company plans to roll-out at least six exclusive Tashi outlets in the next 15 days-to-one month period.
These six stores will be set up in Mumbai, New Delhi and Chandigarh, a company statement said.
The specialty footwear retail chain will have exclusive stores located at high streets, major city markets and leading malls in these cities to ensure maximum brand visibility and customer accessibility.
Tata International has a history in the leather business, having collaborated with international fashion brands and retailers in the manufacture, design and supply of footwear and accessories.
The Indian footwear retail market is estimated at Rs 16,000 crore and is growing at a CAGR of over 15 per cent.
With the increase in per capita consumption, changing lifestyle and the greater fashion consciousness of the Indian consumer, the organised footwear retail space is on the threshold of rapid expansion, the company statement said.
