Smart earnings lift shares of DB Realty on bourses

Shares of DB Realty surged by nearly 7 per cent on the BSE today

after the company reported growth in consolidated net profit for 2010-11.

Following the good set of numbers, the stock zoomed up by 6.90 per cent to settle at Rs 80.60 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). In intra-day, the scrip spurted by 8.62 per cent to touch a high of Rs 81.90.

Buying was also seen at the company's counter on the NSE, where the stock gained 6.28 per cent to close at Rs 80.40.

On the volume front, over 62 lakh shares of the company changed hands on the bourses during the day.

DB Realty today reported a 19 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 298.7 crore for the 2010-11 fiscal, as against Rs 251.97 crore in the previous fiscal.

The firm's total income increased by 33 per cent to Rs 1,268.69 crore last fiscal from Rs 951.2 crore in 2009-10.

Meanwhile, the BSE key index Sensex ended the day with a loss of 101.33 points at 18,394.29
