Slovakia invites Indian cos to invest in auto, electronics

Slovakia today invited Indian companies to invest in its country, particularly, in sectors like

automotive and electronics.

There is a need to strengthen the bilateral trade and investment relations between the two countries, Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic Juraj Miskov said while addressing a meeting of businessmen and entrepreneurs organised by CII.

Terming Slovakia as the Gateway to Europe and an automotive centre, the minister said Indian businessmen can take advantage of low inflation and favourable government policies besides a high percentage of graduate work force, to invest in the East European nation.

Slovakian Ambassador to India, Marian Tomasik ,said his country had great business interest in India.

He called for cooperation in defence equipment between the two countries. During 2009-10, the trade between the two countries stood at $76 million.
