Skoda sales up 52.84 % in Sept

Czech luxury car maker SkodaAuto today reported a 52.84 per cent growth in its sales during September at 1,854 units.

The company had sold 1,213 units during September last year.

"We are optimistic that the 2009 festival season will continue to see a much stronger response to out products and services and help drive growth in our sales in the coming months," SkodaAuto India Board Member (Sales and Marketing) Thomas Kuehl said in a statement.

In the C+ segment, the company registered a sale of 684 units of its Octavia and New Laura models, while in the D segment its Superb clocked a sale of 257 units during the month.

"Strengthening our dealer base will play a vital role in continuing to enhance the Skoda customer care experience. Our expansion strategy is to create a strong authorised dealer network in India.We will increase our presence to 65 outlets by end of 2009," SkodaAuto India Senior General Manager (Sales and Network Development) Ashutosh Dixit
