RPP Infra bags orders worth Rs 23 cr from MRPL

RPP Infra Projects today said it has bagged new orders worth Rs 23 crore from Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) for civil and structural works.

The work order, which includes civil and structural works at the MRPL Phase-III project site in Mangalore, shall be completed in a period of five months, the infra firm said in a statement.

Commenting on the order, RPP Infra Projects CMD P Arulsundaram said, "We are pleased to have the work orders from MRPL, Mangalore. As we are already executing two projects in Mangalore, this will be very useful in expanding our base in Karnataka, especially in Mangalore."

RPP is engaged in the business of infrastructure development, including highways, roadways, bridges, civil construction works, irrigation, water supply projects and power plants.

About the company's Sri Lankan Housing project, it said External Affairs Minister S M Krishna handed over the keys of the first phase of houses to the Internally Displaced People (IDPs) during his visit there and construction of the remaining houses is in progress.

This pilot project won by RPP Infra Projects in 2011 is funded by the government of India through the Ministry of External Affairs. A total of 1,000 houses are being built in two packages, the company said. Hindustan Pre-Fab Ltd (HPL), a government of India subsidiary, is executing the project.

The houses are for the IDPs in Mullaitheevu, Vavuniya, Jaffna, Kilinochchi and Mannar districts in the northern and eastern provinces of Sri Lanka.
