Reliance Communications Q3 net falls more than expected

Reliance Communications today reported a 43.3 per cent dip in its net profit at Rs 105 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2012.

The company had reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 186 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Total income of the company, however, rose 5 per cent to Rs 5,301 crore as compared to Rs 5,055 crore in the same quarter last year, the company said in a statement.

The company's 3G customer base stood at 6.1 million, while it has 27.6 million data customers, the statement said.

"Revenue per minute (RPM) stood at a healthy 44 paisa. We have successfully achieved RPM stability for the last 11 consecutive quarters amidst increasing competition and over supply of minutes in market place," it added.

RCoM generated operational cash flow (EBITDA) of Rs 1,653 crore in Q3 of FY13.
