Punj Lloyd bags Rs 99cr contract for luxury homes in Kolkata

Punj Lloyd, an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) conglomerate, today said it has won a Rs 99-crore contract for construction of 194 units of luxury houses in Kolkata.

The project at Kolkata West International City (KWIC), a satellite township in West Bengal, is scheduled to be completed within 15 months, Punj Lloyd said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

"With this new order, we have entered into the niche segment of luxury villas in India. Owing to our rich experience in residential space internationally, we aim to ... replicate our success in India too," S S Raju, President and CEO, Building & Infrastructure (India), Punj Lloyd said.

With this contract, the order backlog of Punj Lloyd on a consolidated basis has shot up to Rs 25,838 crore.

Besides India, Punj Lloyd group has constructed residential buildings in countries like Dubai and Singapore. It has also won a civil contract for two commercial buildings within a township project by Hirco Group.
