Lounges pan-India by end-this year to tap the burgeoning demand in this segment, a senior company executive said.

The company, which set up one such lounge in Navi Mumbai yesterday, presently has around 40 such lounges across 20-odd cities in the country, the official said.

"Our plan is to cross 50 Home Decorative Lighting Lounges in another 3-4-months across geographies," Philips Lighting India's Senior Director (Home Decorative Lighting and Modular Switches) Nand Kishore told PTI here.

The segment is expected to clock a 25-30 per cent growth on a year-on-year basis and Philips is looking at garnering a major chunk of this, Nand Kishore said.

A home decorative lighting lounge is an exclusive outlet which offers customers a range of home lighting products.

"Today we have 300-400 products in our home decorative lighting portfolio and for this reason we started looking at this space," he said, adding the company plans to add a host of new products to its already existing range.

"The idea behind launching these lounges is that a consumer can come here and feel, touch and see how the light effects could be played up," Nand Kishore said, adding "this is the best way to show the lighting effects to customers in a certain environment."
