Panasonic pushes sales with gifts

Consumer electronics company, Panasonic India, has targeted to double its revenue for the present

financial year to Rs 4,500 crore. The Japanese company reported Rs 2,200 crore as revenue last year.

It also wants to raise the contribution from India to its global business to 10 per cent by 2014.

"At present, India contributes only 1 per cent to our overall global business.

But we are aiming that by another five years, India would contribute almost 10 per cent to our global turnover," said, Daizo Ito, CEO, Panasonic India. The company is pushing its festive season sales by assuring gifts for all high-end products.

"In the festival season, we are expecting Rs 900 crore sales and hope to sell 60,000 units of LCDs. Almost 20 per cent of our overall annual sales will come from this festival period," said Sabiha Kidwai, general manager, marketing, Panasonic India.
