Nokia ready to support LTE technology in India

Mobile handset manufacturer Nokia today said the company was ready to support Long-Term Eolution

(LTE) technology when it arries in India, a company official said.

"Nokia is ready to proide handsets which would be LTE-enabled in the Indian market," Jasmeet Gandhi, head (serices marketing) of Nokia India said.

Launching three feature-phones in the city here today, Gandhi said that Nokia would blur the difference between high-end smartphones and feature-phones by proiding arious applications on the handsets.

He said that feature-phones was the fastest growing category in the Indian market as these handsets were enabling users to connect to the internet at a reasonable prices compared to expensie smartphones.

Gandhi said sales of smartphones had not peaked up as expected due to low penetration of 3G bandwidth among the users.
