Nissan sales up nearly three-fold in January

Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd (NMIPL) today reported a nearly three-fold jump in total

sales to 5,168 units in January.

In the same month last year, the company sold a total of 1,857 units, NMIPL said in a statement.

The company's compact car Micra recorded sales of 1,855 units, while sedan Sunny accounted for 3,218 units.

"Breaking the 5,000 sales-mark after only 20 months of operation, is a milestone in our continuing development in what is one of Nissan's most strategically important markets," NMIPL Managing Director Kiminobu Tokuyama said.
