division, today said it has bagged Rs 1,181 crore order during the third quarter of the current fiscal.

The order includes construction of residential buildings, factories, including a specialised support facility building, the company said in a statement.

"L&T's Buildings & Factories Independent Company has secured new orders aggregating to Rs 1,181 crore during the third quarter," the statement added.

Elaborating on the order, the firm said it has received an amount of Rs 558 crore from leading developers to construct residential buildings in major cities, Rs 298 crore from other clients to build factories.

"A turnkey project has been secured from a major client worth Rs 325 crore for the design & construction of a specialised support building facility," the statement said.

These orders further enhance the order book of the company, which has already secured major design and build contracts in airports, IT parks commercial and residential space.

A few days back the railway business unit of the USD 10-billion L&T bagged orders worth Rs 1,103 crore from three power plants and Balco to construct railheads to link the power plants to the main railway network.
