The Electrical & Gulf Projects Operating Company, a part of L&T's construction division, has bagged six orders worth Rs 1,181 crore for construction of power transmission lines and substations, L&T said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

The company has secured three contracts worth Rs 741 crore in Gulf and three orders worth Rs 440 crore from domestic firms, the filing said.

In the Gulf, Larsen & Toubro (Oman) LLC, a joint venture company of L&T, has bagged a contract worth Rs 376 crore from Oman Electricity Transmission Company for transmission line and substation, it said. The project would be completed in 18 months.

Besides, the company got an "extra high voltage cabling" project worth Rs 265 crore from Dubai Electricity and Water Authority which needs to be completed in 18 months.

Further, it secured a power distribution network project worth Rs 100 crore from Abu Dhabi Distribution Company. The project is to be completed in 16 months.

The company has secured two power transmission projects worth Rs 300 crore from state-run Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd and another contract worth Rs 120 crore from Steel Authority of India Ltd for extension of its Rourkela steel plant, it said.

Shares of L&T were trading at Rs 1,611.10 on BSE, down 0.01 per cent from its previous close.
