Jubilant FoodWorks Q4 net profit up 86%

86 per cent jump in its net profit year-on-year to Rs 19.3 crore. The company is all set to open its first outlet in Sri Lanka in June 2011. As of March 2011, the company has 378 stores across 90 cities and is looking at opening another 80 stores during 2011-12.

“Our total income has increased by 56.45 per cent at Rs 194 crore for fourth quarter of 2010-11 from Rs 124 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago. The same store sales, that are sales at outlets open for at least one year, rose 33.2 per cent. We have short-listed 40 cities where we would open stores in next three years,” said the chief executive officer of Jubilant FoodWorks, Ajay Kaul.

The company’s standalone net sales for 2011-12 increased 59.94 per cent to Rs 678.07 crore from Rs 423.93 crore during the 12-month period ended March 31, 2010.

He added, “currently the top 10 cities contribute almost 70 per cent of our overall revenue and the rest comes from the 80 cities. In the last three years, we have entered 50 new cities and we would continue to be focused on entrenching our store web into existing cities and tap opportunities in Tier II and III cities.”

The company has announced its franchisee agreement with US based coffee and bakery chain, Dunkin Donuts during February 2011. Jubilant FoodWorks is planning to open 100 Dunkin Donuts stores in next five years. The first one is expected to come up early 2012. “The initial development has started on product concepts for Dunkin Donuts in India,” said Kaul.

Moreover, the company is also in the process of unveiling its first Domino’s store in Sri Lanka next month through its subsidiary Jubilant FoodWorks Lanka. It plans to open five Domino’s outlets in Sri Lanka during 2011-12.
