To begin with, it has rolled out flip-flops, sling bags and their latest addition-laptop skins for students.
SAIF Partners, the leading private equity firm managing over $3.5 billion and providing growth capital to companies in Asia, has pumped $3 million into the Indian company floated by two IIT grads.
Kashyap Dalal, founder & CEO of Inkfruit told Financial Chronicle, “Every prod uct available under Inkfruit is designed through a democratic process. Every month, Inkfruit gets nearly 4,000 designs submitted by artists/customers across the world. Once selected, these artists get between Rs 5,000 and Rs 25,000. But more than that, the final products come with the artist's signature on the tag, which is a huge recognition and exposure for them.“
Over and above online sales, Inkfruit products are available at over 400 retail shops across the country including Lifestyle, Planet M and Central. The company has plans to roll out 2/3 new product styles every month. “Currently we sell about 30,000 units per month, which will go up substantially and more so with a number of new products proposed to be rolled out,“ he said. The company has also designed a new brand identity.
