Hero Motors joins hands with ZF-Lemforder

Munjals-promoted component maker Hero Motors today said it has joined hands with German firm ZF-Lemforder to expand its presence in chassis and axle systems for small cars.

The flagship auto parts maker of Hero Group has a joint venture -- ZF Hero Chassis Systems Pvt Ltd -- with ZF-Lemforder, in which both the firms hold equal stakes.

ZF Hero Chassis Systems Pvt Ltd has started with two production facilities at Halol in Gujarat and Talegaon in Maharashtra, and plans to set up two plants in Gurgaon and Chennai within the next couple of years.

"With this JV, we are hopeful that we will be able to help the industry meet the growing demands and offer better product offerings," Hero Motors Managing Director Pankaj Munjal told reporters here
