HCL Tech surges nearly 5% on smart Dec quarter earnings

Shares of HCL Technologies surged nearly 5 per cent today after the company posted

43.3 per cent jump in net profit for the quarter ended December 31, 2011.

After opening on a positive note, the stock further jumped by 4.48 per cent to an early high of Rs 425 on the BSE.

The scrip touched a high of Rs 425.55, up 4.82 per cent from the last closing price, on the NSE.

Marketmen said the company's numbers came largely in-line with consensus estimates.

HCL Technologies reported a net profit of Rs 572.7 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 against Rs 399.7 crore in the October-December quarter of 2010.

The company also declared an interim dividend of Rs 2 per equity share of Rs 2 face value.
