Electrical goods maker Havells India today said it has inked a pact with a promoter entity whereby the trademark 'Havells' would be transferred to the company.

"...One of its promoter companies, QRG Enterprises Ltd, which owns the trade mark 'Havells', has entered into a revised trademark license agreement with the company pursuant to which the brand will be transferred to the company for no consideration with effect from April 1, 2016," Havells said in a filing to the BSE.

The existing trademark licence agreement between the companies is expiring in financial year 2015-16, it added.

Havells India markets various products including industrial and domestic circuit protection devices, cables, wires, motors, fans and home appliances. It had acquired lighting firm Sylvania in 2007.

Havells shares were trading at Rs 646.60 on the BSE in the afternoon trade, up 1.55 per cent from its previous close.
