Ford sales down 3% in January

Car-maker Ford India today reported a 2.99 per cent decline in its total sales

during January at 10,789 units.

The company had sold 11,121 units in the corresponding month last year, Ford India said in a statement.

Ford's domestic sales declined by 8.87 per cent to 9,137 units in the reporting quarter from 10,026 units in the same month last year, it added.

Its overseas shipments, however, increased by 50.87 per cent to 1,652 units in January this year from 1,095 units in the same month last year.

"We are thankful so many customers in India appreciate the value of the vehicles we are offering, and this year we continue to focus on improving our performance and service on behalf of our customers," Ford India President and Managing Director Michael Boneham said.
