have its very own fashion week. The event will be held between July 23 and 26. The inaugural edition of the Bangalore Fashion Week will showcase some of the best names from the Indian fashion fraternity, including designers such as Rocky S, Sanchita Ajjampur, Manoviraj Khosla, Abdul Halder, Jattinn Kochhar, Samant Chauhan, Jason and Anshu Arora Sen. Models including Zulfi Syed, Acquin Pais, Candice Pinto, Bruna Abdullah, Priya Nayak and Shawar Ali will walk the ramp.

Dream Merchants, the organisers of Bangalore Fashion Week has signed Seagram’s Blenders Pride as the title sponsor for the inaugural Bangalore Fashion Week. S Mahajan, director, Dream Merchants, says, "Many big models, designers, and actors are from South India. Many fashion weeks are held across the country but no such event takes place here, so we thought Bangalore is just the right place to start one."

This new addition to the growing list of fashion weeks is good news for designers. Fashion designer Raghavendra Rathore says, “This is very encouraging. We cannot go by the size of the city. A smaller city has the same potential as bigger fashion hubs such as Mumbai and Delhi.”

Fashion experts say the Indian consumer landscape is evolving very quickly. “Fashion and lifestyle changes are a key expression of one’s self. The Bangalore Fashion Week will bring consumers closer to the best design and creative talent,” says Bikram Basu, VP, marketing, Pernod Ricard India.
