Ericsson bags multi-million dollar deal

Swedish telecom equipment supplier Ericsson today said it has bagged a multi-million dollar contract from property management firm Radius Synergies for deploying optical fibre network in the residential project being set up by ATS.

Deploying of optical fibre network would help telecom players offer high-end data, TV and communications (triple- play) services at the project area in the NCR, which has over 3,000 residential units.

"We are carrying out a multi-million dollar project for deploying fibre-to-the-home solution for Radius Synergies... The project, which is being done in phases, is expected to be completed in the next three-six months," Ericsson India Vice President (Marketing and Strategy) P Balaji told PTI.

After the deployment, residents would be able to access IPTV and video-on-demand, download data content at 100 mbps and access Wi-Fi in the complex's common areas and gardens, he added.

The company is also in discussion with other players in India for deploying similar networks in residential projects, Balaji said but declined to give further details.
