its 'Boroplus' and 'Zandu' products in order to meet the growing demand, both in the domestic and overseas markets.

The company said it will invest Rs 75 crore on expanding capacities and modernising various units across the country within this financial year.

"We are revamping and modernising our production facilities of Zandu, Boroplus and also several other products ...Besides, we have also set up a new R&D centre. Our capital investment will be around Rs 75 crore this fiscal," Emami Limited Director Harsh Agarwal told PTI.

The company is expanding its Pantnagar unit which makes Boroplus antiseptic cream, Himani fast relief, Navratna Oil and Mentho Plus Balm. Besides, it is also expanding its Boroplus cream plant in Kolkata as well.

At present, Emami has around 10 manufacturing units in India. He, however, did not disclose the total production capacities of the plant and by how much it is likely to increase after the expansion.

"The demand for Boroplus is quite strong both in India and abroad. It is growing at 15 per cent annually. We are also doing a lot of revamping work in terms of packaging and all for Zandu products," Agarwal said.

Recently the company has started operation of its new R&D centre in Kolkata, which has been set up at a cost of Rs 12 crore. Besides, it is also revamping the manufacturing units of Zandu products in West Bengal and Gujarat.

As part of its expansion plan, the company is also enhancing its distribution network with more thrust on penetrating into the rural markets.
