15 million spending market of small and medium businesses (SMBs) in Chandigarh in sync with its plans to deepen its business in mid size markets in the country.

"E-governance, defence purchase, investment of Punjab telecom circle is making Chandigarh one of the major IT spending cities in north India. Dell as an IT partner is equipped to address customer pain points and resolve problems, allowing them to focus on their business needs," company’s Senior Product Consultant (SMB), Avik Rudra told reporters here today.

Chandigarh has close to 20,000 SMBs and total ICT spend by medium business is $ 15.1 million, making it lucrative market for Dell, he said.

"Mid market customers have been underserved by traditional IT companies and yet they represent fastest growing segment," he said.

Responding to SMB customer needs, Dell has launched a host of SMB specific products like V131 laptop and Equalogic storage solutions to help customers address data management requirements.

He said In the SMB segment, with 15.6 per cent market share, Dell is ranked number one in second quarter of year 2011 (February till January )with a year on year growth of 15.7 per cent.
