"We have completely utilised our bilateral rights and we are happy about the capacity out of India. Our main focus now is to consolidate our operations in India and to make these services more attractive," the airline's Sales and Marketing Manager Rakesh Raicar told PTI.
Noting that business travel had significantly dipped in India as elsewhere in the world, he said, holiday and leisure travel during April-June saw a growth on the economy segment.
The Delhi-Bangkok-Hong Kong flight enjoyed an almost 100 per cent load factor during the summer holidays, Raicar said, but did not reveal the yields on these flights for reasons of business secrecy.
To questions on the bilateral air traffic rights signed less about 18 months ago, he said a daily flight from Delhi to Hong Kong via Bangkok was launched from March 30, taking the total number of flights each day two. The other Delhi-Hong Kong service is a non-stop one.
Cathay has also added four flights a week on the Hong Kong-Chennai sector, while daily flights between Hong Kong and Bangalore were being operated by its fully-owned low cost subsidiary Dragon Air.
