The new brand of braking system has been specially designed for Bajaj Auto, and will be delivered in five-six months. "It will be used in their high-tech bikes to be built in collaboration with Austria's specialised bike manufacturer KTM Power Sport AG," Nicola Frambrosi, motorcycles sales director, Brembo group said.
The Milan-listed Brembo group is a world leader in high performance ceramic brake systems, which supplies high performance brake systems for car manufacturers, commercial vehicles and motorbikes worldwide.
Shrikant N Pangarkar, CEO, Brembo Brakes India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Brembo group said Bajaj Auto was the first company in India which after approval had placed an initial book order of 5,000 units of the brand new Bybre brakes.
KTM and Bajaj Auto have signed an agreement to jointly develop motorcycles for the Indian and overseas markets. Officials said the two firm would be launching 125-150cc ‘Stunt’ in Europe first and later in India.
This will be followed by ‘Race’ motorcycle which will have the same engine but different styling.
