Berger Paints Q1 net up 16.41% at Rs 37.16 cr

Berger Paints today posted a 16.41 per cent increase in its net profit to Rs 37.16 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011, over the same period last fiscal.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 31.92 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2010, Berger Paints said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

During the reporting quarter, the company had a 30.28 increase in its net sales to Rs 693.12 as against Rs 532 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.

On a standalone basis, the company reported a 11 per cent jump in its net profit to Rs 41 crore as against Rs 37 crore posted in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.

Berger Paints' standalone net sales for the quarter stood at Rs 641 crore, a 31 per cent increase from Rs 491 crore recorded in the year-ago period.

Shares of Berger Paints today settled at Rs 103.10 on the BSE, down by 0.63 per cent from previous close.
