Bajaj Auto today reported 2.96 per cent increase in its standalone net profit for the third quarter ended December 31 at Rs 818.74 crore.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 795.19 crore in the corresponding quarter in last fiscal.

The standalone net sales during the period under review stood at Rs 5,307.20 crore as against Rs 4,839.95 crore in the year-ago period, up 9.65 per cent, the company said in a statement.

Total volume sales stood at 11,27,741 units during the quarter as against 10,75,441 units in the same quarter last fiscal, up 4.86 per cent.

Shares of the company were trading 1.70 per cent down at Rs 2,079.30 apiece on BSE during afternoon.
