Aurobindo Pharma gets tentative nod from US FDA for HIV drug

Aurobindo Pharma today said it has received a tentative approval from the US drug

regulator for manufacturing and marketing of its Nevirapine tablets, used in the treatment of HIV infections.

In a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Hyderabad-based company said it has received approval for Nevirapine tablets for oral suspension in the strength of 50 mg.

Nevirapine tablets are used for the treatment of HIV infections.

Aurobindo has a total of 113 ANDAs (Abbreviated New Drug Application) approvals that includes 84 final and 29 tentative from the US Food and Drug Administration.

Shares of Aurobindo Pharma were quoting at Rs 928.90, up 0.15 per cent in the late afternoon trade on the BSE.
