After Big B, Emami Ltd – the Rs 2500 crore FMCG flagship of the diversified Emami Agrotech Ltd, has roped in Bollywood’s Bajrangi Bhai Salman Khan to endorse its edible oil brands.

At present Emami has 3 brands in their edible oil business – ‘Emami Healthy & Tasty’, ‘Himani Best Choice’ and ‘Rasoi’ apart from ‘Bake Magic’ – a speciality fat brand.

PSUs hire IIT Kharagpur grads; industry eyes PhDs

Two new significant and happy trends marked the end of the first phase of placement season at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, also known as IIT KGP.

The first is the increasing interest being shown by public sector undertakings (PSUs) to hire students from IIT KGP; the second constitutes hiring of PhD scholars through campus placement, say senior officials at IIT KGP.

Royal China gets into quick service business

Delhi-based Chinese fine-dining chain Royal China, with presence in India and abroad, is now looking at spreading its wings across the country through QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) format for faster returns on investment. The premium restaurant brand, at present, has three outlets in India including one in Delhi and six outlets in the UK, China, Singapore and Dubai. It is in the process of having one more outlet in Delhi shortly, top company officials said.

States' revenue shortfall post-GST at Rs 36Kcr: Amit Mitra

There has been a shortfall of Rs 36,000 crore in projected revenues in the first four months post Goods and Services Tax (GST) implementation, West Bengal Finance Minister Amit Mitra said today.

While the projected collection at 14 per cent growth was Rs 1,72,000 crore, the actual figure realised had been Rs 1,36,000 crore, resulting in a deficit of Rs 36,000 crore for the first four months till November, Mitra, who is also a GST Council member, told reporters on the sidelines of an event here.
