shared facility in Chennai, would not battle its ally on the price front, a top company official said today.

"We are sharing the Chennai facility with Nissan just to get the economies of scale effect. We have launched Pulse on the Nissan's Micra platform just to get into the hatchback segment in India," Renault India Managing Director Marc Nassif told reporters at the launch of 'Pulse' here.

"We do not intend to battle Nissan on the price front," he said.

Asked whether the company was keen to enter the sub-Rs 4 lakh segment, Nassif said, "We are present in the Rs 4 lakh segment and above. We are keen to enter the sub-Rs 4 lakh segment".

Renault India's Pulse is the third launch after Fluence and Koleos.

Nassif said the company planned to launch five new products by the end of 2012.

"We want to touch the 1 lakh sales mark in 2013," Nassif said, adding that the petrol version of 'Pulse' would be launched soon.
