Toyota expects 30% rise in sales in 2012

over 30% in 2012 on the back of robust demand for its sedan Etios and small car Liva.

"This year our sales target is 180,000 units for the domestic market. We are expecting very good demand for Etios and Liva," Toyota Kirloskar Motor Managing Director (Marketing) Sandeep Singh told reporters at the 11th Auto Expo here.

The company had sold 136,000 units in the Indian market in 2011.

"Besides, domestic market, we are also expecting good numbers from the export...We are going to start our export from April-May this year," he added.

The company will start export of its Etios and Liva to South Africa from early next fiscal.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor today launched a new variant of its multi utility vehicle Innova priced between Rs 9.40 lakh and Rs 13.19 lakh. It also introduced new variant of the sports utility vehicle Fortuner, priced at Rs 19.99 lakh to Rs 20.99 lakh.

Besides, the company showcased refreshed versions of Etios, Liva, premium sedan Altis and Camry, hybrid sedan Prius and premium SUV Land cruiser.
