Tata Motors global sales up 27% in December

Sales of luxury vehicles from the Jaguar Land Rover stable stood at 30,981 units during December, 2011, up 45 per cent in comparison to December, 2010, Tata Motors said in a statement.

While sales of luxury sedans under the Jaguar marque increased by 9 per cent last month to 4,726 units, Land Rover sales rose by 54 per cent to 26,255 units, it added.

The company said total passenger vehicles sales stood at 61,066 units in December, 2011, a 45 per cent increase vis-a-vis the same month of 2010.

Commercial vehicles sales were up by 12 per cent year-on-year at 53,854 units during the month under review, it added.

The Tata Motors Group's global sales portfolio comprises the Tata, Tata Daewoo and Hispano Carrocera range of commercial vehicles and Tata passenger vehicles, along with Jaguar and Land Rover.
