Hero Electric launched E-Sprint, Optima Plus and Zippy

Hero Electric on Tuesday launched three electric vehicles -- E-Sprint, Optima Plus and Zippy -- priced at Rs 32,470 (ex-showroom), Rs 32,796 and Rs 17,900 (both on road), respectively. While E-Sprint and Optima Plus are high-speed vehicles at 45kmph, Zippy is a lower speed (40kmph) vehicle. The company is working on installing rapid charging points, which would enable the consumers to fully charge the vehicles in an hour.

"We are talking to the respective state governments for the rapid charging points and soon we would install them in locations such as malls, markets and other such areas. We are also talking to some of the power companies for installing such rapid charging points near their power stations. Delhi will be the first city to get such points," managing director, Hero Electric, Naveen Munjal told reporters here at teh Auto Expo 2010.
