Fiat India to add 10 new dealers by end-December

Automobile manufacturer Fiat India plans to add 10 new dealers to its existing network by year-end, a company official said.

"At present, we have 100 dealerships in 78 cities in the country. We propose to add 10 more dealers by December 2010," a company spokesperson told PTI here.

The new dealerships would be added both in new markets and cities where the company already has a presence, he said.

Fiat India recently opened its 100th showroom in the country in Mumbai, taking the total number of its dealerships to four in the metro.

The new dealership will provide sales, service and spare parts all under one roof.

Fiat India Automobiles (FIAL) is a 50-50 industrial joint venture between Fiat Group Automobiles S.P.A., (Fiat) and Tata Motors.

Fiat India has a state-of-the-art facility at Ranjangaon, with a production capacity of 2 lakh cars and 3 lakh engines, besides parts and accessories.

The facility manufactures the Palio Stile, Linea and the Grande Punto.

Fiat's 1.3 litre multijet diesel engines and 1.2 and 1.4 litre fire gasoline engine are also manufactured at the plant.
