Jaguar launches new F-Type SVR Coupe, Convertible sports car
Lighter, faster and draped in a sleek blanket of stunning design, the F-Type SVR provides luxurious aesthetics and driver-focused performance

Tata Motors-owned British luxury sports car maker, Jaguar Land Rover on Wednesday introduced the Jaguar F-Type SVR both in Coupe and Convertible form, priced at Rs 2.65 crore and Rs 2.80 crore respectively at pan India showroom.

The F-Type SVR sports car is the fastest production Jaguar car till date and packs a 575 hp supercharged V8 engine.

The F-Type SVR has been developed by the Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) team at Jaguar Land Rover, and what's pushed to the maximum is the performance of the car.

The imported Jaguar F-Type SVR will be made available in Coupe and Convertible form to buyers in the country.

The Jaguar F-Type SVR Coupe has rivals in the form of the Porsche 911 Turbo S, Mercedes-AMG GT R and the Nissan GT-R, while the Jaguar F-Type SVR Convertible faces off against the Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet on the Indian roads.

The F-Type SVR comes powered by a 5-litre supercharged V8 engine that produces 567 bhp and develops 700 Nm of torque.

Since performance is paramount, all that power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

While the Coupe, weighing in at 1,705kg, can do 0-100 kmph in a claimed 3.7 second before hitting a top speed of 322 kmph, the Convertible, being marginally heavier, has an identical 0-100 kmph time, but a slightly lower top speed of 314 kmph.

Additionally, the F-Type SVR comes with a lightweight titanium and Inconel exhaust (which saves 16 kg and makes the F-Type SVR sound better), 20-inch forged alloys, a carbon-fibre rear wing and lightweight performance seats upholstered in quilted leather.

The car also gets lighter rear suspension knuckles and optional carbon-ceramic brakes, saving up to 21 kg over the standard setup.

“The new F-Type SVR is the first Jaguar car to have been developed by the Special Vehicle Operations,” Rohit Suri, president and managing director at Jaguar Land Rover India, said in a statement.

Their ideas of precision engineering reflect brilliantly in each aspect of the car, he said. “Be it design, performance or comfort; sports car enthusiasts will experience all these features when behind the wheel of the new F-Type SVR,” Suri pointed out.

The cabin of the car feature SVR performance seats and enhances the overall driving experience by an impressive notch.

The F-Type SVR's V-MAX mode allows you to achieve astonishing speeds with minimum drag delivering pure driving pleasure and re-defining the art of performance.

Wider Pirelli P-Zero tyres – 10 mm wider than standard F-Type tyres – offers improved grip and handling.

Lighter, faster and draped in a sleek blanket of stunning design, the new Jaguar F-Type SVR provides luxurious aesthetics and driver-focused performance, while retaining the comfort and daily utility provisions, atypical of all Jaguar cars, the company claimed.
