Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, the country’s biggest manufacturers of scooters by sales, on Thursday said its brand new scooter Grazia has sold over 15,000 units within 21 days of its launch in the fiercely competitive two-wheeler market in the country. The new urban 125 cc premium scooter model was commercially launched in the country on November 8. It had started accepting bookings for this model from October 25.
The brand new Honda Grazia is sold in six colours and has a competitive and attractive starting price tag of Rs 57,897 at Delhi showroom. “Loaded with many segment leading features and a fresh styling that stands out, the Grazia has taken the style and performance loving customers by storm,” Yadvinder Singh Guleria, senior vice president, sales and marketing at Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, said.
He said the company was overwhelmed by the initial response. Grazia would use Honda’s leadership to the next level. The Grazia is Honda’s second model in the emerging 125cc scooter category. Along with the Honda Activa 125, it competes with the Suzuki Access 125, which has witnessed strong sales of an average of nearly 33,250 units per month till date over the last year after its facelift was launched in the domestic market in March 2016.
Grazia is India’s first scooter to come with full LED headlamp and three step eco speed Indicator which allows the rider to get better fuel efficiency.
Its distinctive and contemporary design has made it popular among the youngsters. Its advanced features such as 4 in 1 lock with seat opener switch, all digital instrumentation and a utility front pocket with optional smartphone charging and the 125 cc Honda HET engine have it stand apart from competitors in the market.
Honda’s rollout of the Grazia scooter underscored its aim to aggressively take on the competitors in the segment.
