The story of a guy who played with a police dog at a bomb site.
Kashyap Murali, a 25-year graphic designer was at home sketching out the blue prints of his latest project. It was a lovely Bangalore afternoon and it had rained that morning. There are few things more beautiful than Bangalore on a rainy day, especially in Langford Town. The dysfunctional gutters were full and his creative juices were flowing. All was well
Then he heard a loud bang. He says he thought was a the transformer misbehaving again. But it was louder than usual, so perhaps a gas cylinder. He went on with his work for 45-minutes until a friend of his called up to ask if he was okay.
He was, as you now know. He then heard about the string of blasts that graffitied the news channels. So he got up, slipped in to his Kolapuri's and walked in the direction of the sound. He walked around the block, towards the mild commotion that had clustered on Hosur Road.
He says there were a coupla cops and a some playful Labradors hovering around the area. The walk to the bomb site was about 200 feet. On reaching there he looked around for damage but couldn't see much. He says no shattered glass, no blood spray, no burn stains on the ground, nothing. He describes ground zero as "if someone had picked up a rock and dropped it on the tile, and therefore cracking it."
That was it. He couldn't understand what the fuss was about. He played with the police dog for a while and left.
