ICICI Bank appoints Kannan as ED, CFO

ICICI Bank has appointed. N. S. Kannan, the present Executive Director of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company (ICICI Life), as Executive Director & Chief Financial Officer on the Board of ICICI Bank effective May 1, 2009. He fills in the vacancy caused by the elevation of Chanda Kochhar as Managing Director & CEO of the Bank also effective from May 1.

Madhabi Puri-Buch, presently Executive Director of ICICI Bank willmove to ICICI Securities (I-Sec) as its Managing Director & CEO effectiveFebruary 1, 2009 in place of Mr. S. Mukherji who retires on completion of his term of office on January 31, 2009.

K. Ramkumar the present Group Chief Human Resources Officer, will be appointed as as Executive Director of ICICI Bank effective February 1, 2009, in place of Ms. Madhabi Puri- Buch. Ramkumar will also oversee the operations and credit & treasury

middle-office functions currently being overseen by Ms. Puri-Buch, in addition to human resources management.

The Financial Chronicle in its January 6 edition had reported that NS Kannan may take over as Chief Financial Officer and Madhabi Puri-Buch will take move as head of ICIC Securities and that Ramkumar will move as Executive director in charge of human resources.

The post of Deputy managing director is still lying vacant.ICICI Bank has also decided to nominate Mr. Pravir Vohra, Group ChiefTechnology Officer, as a non-executive Director on the Board of I- Sec in addition to his executive responsibilities.
