Swedish security brand Gunnebo is launching its ‘anytime locker’ facility for the banks. The brand has come up with an automatic safe store, which would enable the customers to access the bank lockers without any manual intervention or interface.

The facility would be available in mini, mid and maxi sizes depending upon the bank’s requirement. A number of banks have shown interest in the product.

“Internationally, automatic locker facility is very common. In India it is the first time that such a product is being introduced. Banks in India are keen to introduce this product to make things convenient and more secure for the customers,” said Nicholas Roberts, MD of Gunnebo India.

Safe Store Auto would be a 24 hours self-service safety deposit locker system. This system uses advanced robotics and provides customers with biometric access control to their valuables stored in the bank vault.

The company has an annual turnover of Rs 130 crore and is targeting to reach a figure of Rs 300 crore by 2012. Banks contribute 50 per cent of the total sales of the company in India and 32 per cent worldwide. Som Gangopadhyay vice-president sales and marketing said, “Gunnebo India is already a leading supplier of security solutions to banks and with the launch of this advanced system is providing the banks and leading NBFCs with a key differentiator in terms of services they provide to their high-net worth customers.”

The company has made 40 acquisitions worldwide out of which four brands are present in India. The company plans to introduce few more brands in India next year. The company operates in four categories – secure storage, site protection, entrance control and cash handling. The company manufactures some of its products in its plants in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu.
