Life is full of distinctive nuggets of spiritual wisdom. Your spiritual quest or intent not only echoes your vibrant peak experience in your journey through life, but time as well. Our spiritual quotient is a dynamic entity, no less — it is for the apprentice and the veteran as delicate as art, as deft as science, and as blissful as it is aching. What organises, synthesises, or moulds our spiritual ‘radar’ are opportune and isolated possibilities in equal measure. This also includes moments of discord, divergence, chaos, trepidation, harmony and insight. It all depends upon how open, or receptive, you are to embrace the divine vision that resides deep within your psyche — for the higher purposes of your existence.
All of us go through triumphs and turbulence. They are the two sides of the same coin — a learning experience. This is what that stirs our consciousness, in all its myriad manifestations. It also instils in us a sense of responsibility — a principle, or resolve, that each of us has a role in life. The ‘task’ may be small or big — but, it all adds up to making life worth living, or successful.
Yet, the paradox is success is not everything — but, everything else without success is also nothing. Nevertheless, to measure success with material wealth is as flawed as trying to ‘pick’ a discordant note with a virtuoso violinist in concert. The inference is simple. Success, wisdom and our spiritual vision reside between our two ears — not at ‘workshops’ that offer ‘instant nirvana’ in easy steps. In like manner, your success and spiritual growth are not measured with sophisticated gadgets, but by your own capacity to accept and ‘cuddle’ knowledge from wherever it emerges.
What is most fascinating is the fact that we are all endowed with remarkable inner strength. We all aim to reach the top with everything we do — more so, because most of us think of life as an expedition, a journey into a new tomorrow. But, the irony is no one knows for sure what the best path is. There are actually no ‘best’ paths. What we have are several paths, each offering a different experience. You need to choose the one that suits your purpose best. In other words, you need to look at each path with intensity, not arbitrarily. The ability to weigh options and hone them well, illuminates your path, just as much as it does for a Test batsman who spends a great deal of time in the middle — not at the nets.
You can’t, as a reflective verse affirms, step into the same river twice — likewise, you can’t take two medicines, for an illness, having just the opposite, or reverse, effects. There is emptiness in space. There is also ‘void’ in our spiritual landscape, when one is studying or trying to understand the fundamentals. This is akin to ‘triggers’ that provoke stress in our day-to-day existence. No one is exempt from stress. Stress not only makes us feel isolated or lost, it also wobbles the ground beneath our feet. Stress undermines our objectives; it propels our purpose too. For one who gets bogged down under its weight, stress represents fear. It is up to us to keep ourselves focused. Focus gets the best out of everyone — the gifted, or the average. It powers our ‘soul conscious awareness’, with remarkable clarity, provided you stay focused and keep looking up ahead. When you think of stress as a passing blur in the clouds, you will witness a silver lining, sooner than you’d, perforce, think. It holds the key for us to prevail and triumph, whatever the odds.
