auto components sector. The two acquisitions made by the company in the past one year have resulted in a significant shift in its revenue mix with auto components business outstripping its traditional sugar business.

For the nine month period ended March 31, 2008, the company posted revenues of Rs 1,641 crore, of which auto components accounted for Rs 1,100 crore, while the rest came from its sugar business. In the year-ago period, for the year ended June, 30, 2007, the company clocked revenues of Rs 943 crore, of which sugar business accounted for Rs 751 crore, with rest accounted for by auto components sales.

For the full year ended, which has been extended to December 31, 2008 to have a uniform financial year with European operations, the company expects a major chunk of revenue to come from auto parts business, according to M Manickam, chairman and managing director, Sakthi Sugars.
